I’m composed and full of feeling.
I’m en-wrapped in silent healing.
The air flows cool in the Father’s mountains.
There isn’t much to say
How we spend each pleasant day,
But know, deep down within,
That God’s Spark is close to Him.

The timing, weatherwise, was perfect – although the local community were hoping for well-overdue rain – but for us , attendees of the conference, the Sunshine Coast turned on its namesake.
The venue, Halse Lodge,a beautiful old heritage-protected Queenslander, is set only a few minutes walk from the beach, pub, shops and rainforest walks. The atmosphere was relaxed and homely. We were blessed with the Conference Room at Halse Lodge being available for our sole usage for the duration of our stay. The adjoining kitchen area enabled us to have beverages as we desired, which increased the homely effect.
Despite interstate traveling problems associated with the Air Strike, we had 31 attendees who started arriving from 12 o’clock onwards on Thursday 5th October.

Theme: Cultural Diversity and Spiritual Unity
I would like to give a brief outline of the events at our recent South Pacific Meeting , even though it may be hard for the words I use to convey the meaning and value of the whole experience. I’m sure everyone who participated will agree that it was an “event of a lifetime”. As Neil Francey said in his closing comments: “We’ll all find ourselves simply saying to people ‘you should have been there'” and this is so true. There’s no substitute for experience. Nevertheless I shall endeavour to summarise the week and share with you a glimpse of its value.
Day 1 – Monday was mainly filled with arrivals, reunions, registrations and generally settling in. It began with a bi t of anxiety at the Sydney airport as the plane carrying the bulk of our American friends, travelling from Cairns, was delayed due to mechanical problems. However, they arrived only one hour late and the bus, which we hired, transported a merry crew down to Robertson. Meanwhile, independent arrivals were happening throughout the morning at Ranelagh House.
This venue chosen proved to be a tremendous success. It is an old manor house which was built in the 1920 era and which can accommodate up to a hundred
some interesting Background notes
The Robertson Hotel is steeped in history, with much of it documented in history books and newspapers, but also coming to life by way of locals dropping by with fondly remembered anecdotes and warm nostalgic tales.
Being one of the first properties in the area, the location of the building itself was chosen for its height, sitting in a majestic position on the escarpment with incredible views out to the entire area.

Although Australia is hosting this meeting, it is our intention that emphasis is placed on interaction. For this reason we decided on the theme “cultural diversity and spiritual unity”. For many years now the URANTIA revelation has seen a great deal of activity in the United States for obvious reasons – the revelation was placed on this world in Chicago – a major centre of Trade & Commerce . The readership spread from that centre throughout America and in recent times we have seen it spreading further from that country to the very countries all of us here today have come from. The time is coming (or perhaps has come) for the readers of the world to unite in their efforts to spread this 5th Epochal Revelation and to get the invisible brotherhood of Jesus off the ground so that his superb teachings will rule in the hearts of all mankind.

Tell me not, in mournful numbers
Life is but an empty dream,
For the soul is dead that slumbers
And things are not what they seem.

I am unqualified to pass judgment on the prospect for the development of evolutionary religion in individual countries, and I am reluctant to generalize on the subject. I would prefer to draw my conclusions from the Book itself. But we need only look around us to see that a world religion is a long way off. In fact The URANTIA Book says in ‘The Character of Statehood’ in the Paper on ‘Development of the State’ that the evolution of a world religion is the 12th and last stage in the evolution of statehood:
12. The world-wide vogue of the pursuit of wisdom — the exaltation of philosophy. The evolution of a world religion, which will presage the entrance of the planet upon the earlier phases of settlement in light and life. [Paper 71:8.14, page 807.10]
But elsewhere the Book hints at something more imminent, the seeds of which are at least being sown in our own lifetimes. In fact in the Paper “After Pentecost”, in ‘Christianities Problem’ it says:
Read MoreThe modern age will refuse to accept a religion which is inconsistent with facts and out of harmony with its highest conceptions of truth, beauty, and goodness. The hour is striking for a rediscovery of the true and original foundations of present-day distorted and compromised Christianity — the real life and teachings of Jesus. [Paper 195:9;5, page 2083.1]
Summary of Scientific and Historic Material that appears to have required access to certain Knowledge
Presented at the South Pacific Regional Meeting of Readers of The URANTIA Book,
(from Nov/Dec Six-O-Six 1988)
The URANTIA Papers were received in 1934 and published in book form in 1955. There are many items of a scientific or historic nature about which definite statements are made in The URANTIA Book, and about which mankind had no certain knowledge during the pre-publication period. Many of these items have since been found to be either correct or to now coincide with current scientific opinion. This paper summarizes some of these items.
